Hi guys

Just a little about myself so we can get acquainted.  I am a missionary kid, having lived in South Africa for 28 years of my life.  I have loved it, but also been a fish out of water in both places.  In Africa I was an American, and in America, I am an African.  Oh well...sometimes it is easy to get away with things when people think it may be because of my African raising!

My three children were all born there but have become thoroughly Americanized since moving here in 93.  South Africa is a land of contrast, beauty and tragedy, but I will speak of this in future, along with my musings.

I love anything to do with words and was thrilled when a friend told me of this site, where I could vent my feelings online in the form of blogs and that people would actually read and comment on them!    I will need all the help I can get in order to navigate my way around this site, so feel free to drop me a line any time, and I will check out your writing or just communicate with you.

I am 44 years old and looking to broaden my horizons considerably.  I have pretty much only seen young faces on here, but if u know anyone who would like to talk, let them know I am here.

Hi, welcome to Mindsay! Thanks for visiting my blog. I think you'll enjoy this blog site, the people may be mainly young, but almost everyone I've replied to and gotten replies from are great to get to know and read their posts. So, take your time to look around, and the best way to get replies and have people start reading your blog is to leave replies. Good luck!

Smiley...Hi, zenglen.  Thanks so much for the reply.  Did not expect to hear from anyone so soon.  Another lady also replied and has given me a few names of people she enjoys and thinks i may be compatible with.  And yes, I think that most of the people on here are going to be wonderful to get along with, but my time is somewhat limited, and one can spend hours on here...I just want them to be filled with reading blogs and talking to people i will be compatible with.  I will keep an eye on your blogs, and hope you will do the same for me.  Have a good day, and thanks for the vote of confidence!

Welcome to mindsay~!!

I know there are many who are young, but they are pretty cool!

May I recommend a few of my favorites, based on what you said in your first entry.

Let's see....SandyQuill , RevCathian ,Snuggs ,artofbeingme ,bbmyls2go

Oh there are so many...I have a list of bookmarks..and some are blogs, on my blog...Like anything, just jump in...the water is warm, and this is one of the best, if not the best, blog site online.

To add a friend to your blog...click on your wiki page...click on freinds..located bottom right...or close....and you will see right above your list of friends, +add friend...put them in category...and do username...and if the name is wrong, it will tell you....

Another good way is to search tags for topics that you like,  are interested in, or want to know more about...there are plenty of us that are not teens...again.....

Welcome, and hope to read more...

Re: Initiation into mindsay
Smiley  Dear Lady...thank you for your prompt response to my reply.  I  was looking for blogs and people that i would be interested in, and you are certainly one of them...especially if u keep putting out pieces like you did for your son!  Also, i appreciate deeply the help that u gave me concerning the addition to my network.  I have written down the instructions, as well as the names that u suggested, and will be looking into it asap.  I will also look at some of your other blogs, which i have not yet had the chance to do.  I would like to add you to my list, and i hope that you will check out my blogs as well, when i get a chance to start writing them.  I have had an interesting life, written children's songs, adult songs, poetry, as well as articles for both, and stories.  I may put some of those in, or just write whatever  comes tomind at the time.  Have a good day and God bless...you are a sweet person!

Hi Bonniegirl,

Welcome to MindSay. Nice to meet you. I feel like the old lady of the group! I'm 49 (until January). But I think I can sneak into the club, still, and nobody will say anything.

Re: Initiation into mindsay
Aw, Cathian, you are only as old as u feel, and by the way u act and feel, you are not old at all.  My husband is 50 this year and i could have sworn from his actions that he was that age years ago....tee hee...

I know you are a wonderful christian and that u always concentrate on godly things in your writings, but i feel that this space is for one to vent one's feelings, altho they be ambiguous.  I have always felt the closeness of God, and that He has never left nor forsaken me, even in the midst of my searching and despair at times.  i am a rebellious child and always have been.  A missionary kid out of water in  africa and here, and also because of the pressure from friends and family members to do things according to a pentecostal dictate.  I am surrounded by preachers in the family and would have acted out even more (left my husband, for one thing) had i not dreaded the drama that would ensue.  So i need a lot of prayer because i do need to make my mind one way or another.  I love the presence of the Lord i feel, but always miserable because i feel i disappoint him in so many ways.

Wow...did not expect to drop that mouthful into your ears (eyes), but i value your opinion as i see already that you and sandy are women of wisdom.  Dont know if i will take the advice, being the nawty girl that i am, but promise to think about it...lol

Your new friend, Bonnie....P.S. have u looked at the poem i wrote for my pastor....?  any comments?
