A special R.I.P to Colin Webster-Watson who died on the Monday 24 of September 2007. We was an Artist, A puppeteer and so much more. he died of old age in his bed at home surrounded by family. I meet him about 6 months ago. i did a stilt walking gig for him. he needed some1 to wear a costume that he had had made for him in ny about 50-60 years ago. so through a couple of people he got hold of my mum who said of course ill do, then told me that she had offered me to do a stilt walking gig the day before i was supposed to meet him. so i had stilts the were only 50 cm tall and they had a big knee coming off them and Colin asked/said can i find some taller 1's. so that day i borrowed some of a lady who works for the womens circus and had 4 days to learn to walk in 65 cm tall stilts (my mum had to take the costume up using safety pins which cud be removed wen necisary). which mite not sound liek much but when ur wearing them u sertainly feel the difference. so that was a sucsess. the lady i borrowed the stilts off talked to a friend who was interested in taking me on for stilt lessons. 7 weeks after i did the gig i started lessons. I now walk on 75 cm high wooden stilts that my uncle and mum made for me (they'r about $250 to buy so mum found a pattern online and we made them in about 2 hours). about 6 weeks after that Colin died and the family asked if i wud wear the costume at the funeral and since i had the taller stilts i was able to wear the costume fully out. After the funeral a family friend of his and his niece came over to me and asked if i wud liek to keep the costume. i was gobsmacked! i accepted greatfully. and all my advancements in my amature stilt walking (carrer u mite say) wud not hav been possible without him. So farewell Colin. As an Irishman/woman wud say "May you be ten minutes in heaven, before the devil knows you're dead."
