How do you try Jesus? The same as you try a new food or a new weight loss program? And if you don't like or if it doesn't work for you then you can spit it back up or say you gave your all. Bad examples, I know but seriously. I can't help but shake my head when someone says "Yeah, I tried the whole Christian thing. Did'n't work for me." You can't "try" Jesus. You obey, you submit, you beg for mercy at the feet of the God who holds your next heartbeat in His hands. "Trying Jesus" is a man-centered theology, man seeking self gratification, answers, peace of mind, but not nessecarily truth. And this theology is faulty in that it is man seeking to bring God down to our level, man seeking to put God into a pill and take it like an asprin thinking it will solve all our headaches. Well oblivously, for those of you who have "tried Jesus", it didn't work, did it? You still have problems, headaches if you will. There is a reason why...

GRACE IS A GIFT!!!

You cannot earn it, you cannot seek it, you cannot manufacture it! All you can do is receive it! Grace is a gift from God to those he has chosen to receive it. And once grace, true grace has a hold of you, there is nothing else you can do but hang on for ride. You can't let it go, you can't turn you back on it, you can't ignore it, once real saving grace, once Christ has a hold on your soul. If you let go of "the whole Christian thing" chances are that you never truly had it to begin with. Chances are you never knew what grace was. But as long as you are still living and breathing, as long as God continues to let you live on this earth, there is hope that they will one day come to a saving knowlegdge of Christ, the end of self, and the begining of repentance!
