The best way to network on here is to visit lots of sites, search by tags, and add people as friends. The more traffic you get on the site, the more results you'll get when you ask questions.
yep go visit other bloggers sites, read and reply. As for archiving there is a way to limit or expand the amount of entries you want to see on your page.
