Ok I would like to tell people about a condition that I know of.

Asperger syndrome has long since been considered a diesease by the vast population of the world. Those with the condition are avoided because of abnormal behavihour. I personally think this is a crime on our part, and I am now supporting its charity. Aspergers involves social difficulties, and they often find the world around them terrifying. They are frightened of everyday things, and loud noises, and are often claustrophobic. They are mostly clumsy, and though usually pretty intelligent, they dont understand reality the way the average person does.

These people are generally shunned from society. If they want to interact with their piers, they have to take lessons on how to be "normal" because that is the only way they can ever have any friends. Often lonliness and confusion can push them further into the depths of their disability, and they have to pretend they are people that they really are not. I know someone now with aspergers, and he is extremely nice, without a mean bone in his body. Some of the things he does are funny, and I think he is unused to having a friend who finds his antics amusing in a nice way, with no malice involved.  and he actually has a sense of humour, which often makes me laugh. He is tormented and bullied at his school and regularly comes home crying. Lately people are starting to think of aspergers as a way of life, instead of a diesease that needs to be cured immediantly. I really hope this catches on because these people dont deserve that.

Thank you.

Nice....don't ya love it when that happens?

Here's the funniest story in the NFL right now:
Brandon Marshall, one of the most physical Wide Receivers in the NFL, slipped on a McDonald's bag and broke his arm as it went through the dang entertainment center. He also had to have numerous stitches.

This is why pollution is bad....for eejits like Marshall who are huge klutzes and break their arms in the entertainment centre and slip over dang bags. Doofus.

I should....yes....but that's not how Jake and I will meet.  You can't make something happen.  It has to happen on it's own and I've done all that I could.  Besides....if Jake googles my name he'll find a LOT of posts on several forums of me sticking up for him and will see my address so he'll, HOPEFULLY, IM me.  If that happens....HECK YEAH! xD

Sounds like defeatist talk to me. U obviously really love the guy. If i felt maybe half of what u did I dont know what i'd do, but it wouldnt be sitting around fantasising about something that should be happening NOW!

Saphyra16 on
Re: ~
I know that, but if it's not in your control you just have to wait and be patient.  Believe me, I've been trying to find a way to meet the twinkybutt.  It's not defeatist, it's being logical because the ball's in his court AND his divorce isn't even final yet (I'm getting a divorce vibe from the cutie).  If it's not in my control, then I can't really do much.

Saphyra16 on
Re: ~
I'm not saying that it doesn't blow....I'm just saying that in this instance, I have to be realistic and be patient.  The ball is pretty much in his court. It's agony but it will be worth it.

Re: ~
I'm the least realistic person on the planet i'm afraid. I made a choice a very long time ago that I was going to chart my own course and leave absolutely nothing to chance. But i suppose realism can be admirable in the right situation, IF your that kind of person.

And i can guess you werent planning on jake. I believe in coincidences, aswell as despising them

Saphyra16 on
Re: ~
xD It's ok.  Depending on if the thing that happens to you is good or not, I don't like things that aren't in my control. If it's a good thing, like Jake....who is the best thing that ever happened to me , then by all means BRING IT ON! But if it's a bad thing, well, I can live without it.  But sometimes you can't control the bad stuff that happens to you either.  They just happen. It's part of life.  Sometimes you make a mistake and then you realize that you shouldn't do that but should remember to not repeat it.  It's learning from these that help you grow and become wiser.

Re: Asperger Syndrome
I just got really sick of all the abuse. I have a mild disability myself, I'm around these people a lot, so I understand it better than most people. The friend I spoke of can't really stand up for himself very well, so i've made it my mission to spread as much awareness as possible, in the hope that one day he won't have to

Re: Asperger Syndrome
I'm fully behind you
And you're going out of your way for no benefit of your own. I saw that you commented on whirlpool's entry. It's been a long time since I've seen anyone really try here, I was pleasantly surprised. Since you're apparantly  in the uk, maybe some point in the future you'd want to join samaritans or something? - they don't let you do as much as you'd necessarily like to do... but nevertheless it's more opportunities to help... which I suppose is better than nothing

I've had problems in the past myself, but never really followed it up (wouldn't change anything), but it makes us more understanding and we see why things need to change. Some things come in shades of grey I think and hopefully I've overcome some stuff with time... anyway I hope to see y'around, I'll add you to my network if that's awright
blobella on
Re: Asperger Syndrome
You know, you've really made my day ^^ You're wrong that it's to no benefit of my own. When people like you actually notice this sort of thing, there's a special feeling you get. Hard to explain. Trust me though, it's definitly worth it, especially when you manage to make a difference once in a while. Also, I hadn't thought of the samaritans, but it's an interesting thought. Of course i'm a bit on the young side atm, but I really will consider that. I'm taking an A level in physcology, going to go into counselling...but as you said the more oppertunities the better. Every little helps. Oh great, now I sound like Tesco's! ^^

I know what you mean, and it would be brilliant it everyone understood things a little more with time. Of course, and I'll add you to my network too. Cya around
