This is a photo I took while on vacation in Manila visiting my girlfriend. This photo was taken around the corner from a 4 star hotel ( The Palm Gardens) to be exact. This ia an entire family homeless with nothing as you see sleeping on the sidewalk and a child sitting on the curb eating from a pot. There is no rent to pay because there is no money to pay it and the food is almost non exsistant. And we complain about what we do have. Suppose we were in this situation, and this is everyday life on the street for these people. I know its a third world country and this is expected. Here you have two kinds of people rich and poor no in between. Look how blessed we are in America !

Yes it is sad. Your photo is an enlightening one.   We need to lose the "border mentality" and show compassion for all.

However, it was recently reported that there are 744,000 homeless in America today. and over 40% of the homeless are families,  Children made up almost one quarter of those in emergency shelters.  This is not a third world country, and should not be acceptable here.

Thank you so much for your comments, they are greatly accepted. I only wish more people saw this situation the way we do. God bless.

Yes America might be the most powerful country in the world and the richest, however its the sadest when it comes to her poor and needy. We can send money overseas to feed hungry children but we  can't feed our own. Charity begins at home and sspreads abroad. How sad indeed.

Thank you.  I picked up my Staples Singers cd at the library today... Freedom Highway.  I love it.  After listening to it I'm beginning to remember them.

Good. If you go back to my web site and click it again you'll get a different set of music. Every time you leave and return its different. I need a menu there for people to choose what they wish to hear. Its about 9 hours of music and sermons there. Once again thanks for stopping by. Be blessed and injoy.

Yeah!  America is great!  It's awesome that we don't have homeless people here.

Yup, seen that in Antigua.  Stayed at a Sandals Resort and less than 1/2 miles away, six people lived in an 8x10 room with a tin roof and nothing to sleep on.  Kids running around with burns on their arms, definitely in pain, because they had nobody to treat them and couldnt afford treatment even if there was somebody. Cows so skinny you could count their ribs....

it was soooo sad. and so hidden from the normal public on their fantasy vacations.

If only Americans could see this with their very own eyes- perhaps the reality of how spoiled we actually are would finally hit home. You don't even have to walk that far across the Mexican border to see like examples of families, generation after generation, that make an entire life out of absolute squalor. Whenever people complain about their state of affairs, I can always tell the ones who have never traveled farther than their own 'front yard'. Or if they have, they have never traveled past the aquamarine pool of the all inclusive resort in whatever Americanized port they had to suffer comfortably in.

I have been many places. I love my country best of all. But seeing what I have seen, I have a hard time complaining- and listening to complaining- when I live in a country that invents special diet pills because their dogs are too fat.

We live in a world that promotes expensive labor saving devices and rich foods, then, when society tells us to be thin or fit people spend yet more money on exercise machines, gym memberships, and diet pills.
