I suppose that since it wasn't cannonized, and there is doubt of the validity ( poor poor doubting thomas!) Some of these 114 sayings could be just made up. I wouldnt read it as a 'gospel' that I call upon the Lord to bring into my life, that is for sure.
. And A lot of christians dislike/disown the GoT for the reasons that it's gnostic, and that it says "Don't look to the church, look inside yourself."
One of the many reasons I posted this is cause I saw Stigmata for the first time a couple days ago.. xmaseve haha. Anyway, i completely recognised the saying they were saying thoughout the whole movie.. then at the end I was like "That is sooo the ghospel of thomas...." and it was haha. Even though I've never read it. I'm not a big fan of scripture. But I have read The Disappearance of the Universe. *nudgenudges featherdawn*
Not sure why you are spelling gospel with a h...curious.
The stigmata phenomenon is incredibly interesting isnt it?
I have been a fan of the saying " Dont throw out the baby with the bath water" meaning, that not everything is black or white, good or evil, this or that...it is important to think things thru. It is also important to always guide oneself by the conviction of the Holy Spirit and know that on the 'evil' side there will always be attempts to discredit God, His people and His miracles by various means. So it is prudent to be wise as a serpant and harmless as a dove
"113. Said Jesus this: "The Kingdom is like a man who had there in his field, a hidden treasure, and he did not know about it. After his death, he left it to his son, who knew not <also>. He took the field there, and gave it away. And whoever bought it, came plowing, and found the treasure. He began giving money (with interest) to those whom he loves."
100 They showed Jesus a gold coin and said to him, "The Roman emperor's people demand taxes from us."
2 He said to them, "Give the emperor what belongs to the emperor, 3give God what belongs to God, 4and give me what is mine.
