Hello everybody!
I hope everybody's day has been going good. I suppose mine went okay.
I had to go with the CCYLP people today. Thank goodness this was our last session. The rest of the sessions have been sooo boring, but today wasn't that bad. We went to Montgomery and toured the Capitol. We got to tour the Capitol building, The Dexter Ave. Baptist Church (where MLK pastored) then we went to the parsonage where him and his family lived when they were in Montgomery. After walking 6 blocks back to Dexter Ave, we had to walk about 3 more to the AmSouth building for lunch. We ate in a ball room on the 21st floor (I almost died in the elevator...I hate close spaces.), ate a 3-course meal (thank you Girl Scouts for teaching me etiquette), then enjoyed the view of Montgomery from balcony.
When we finished our lunch, we then moved on to the U.S. District Courthouse (more walking!)
We got some history about the old courthouse, then the new one, and the tour guide led us to the cell block where they keep prisoners awaiting trial. Yeah, that kinda freaked me out a bit. Me and some other girls got locked in one of the cells by the guide (photo op!). Then we went to where they process prisoners and I got a mug shot taken. lol.
We then toured more of the courthouse and went back to the main control room and looked at all of the cameras. I was checking out the cool guns they had, then suddenly realized that more than half of the group had left. Well, me and the guys ( they were the only ones besides me looking at the guns) followed the guide through the back doors and around to the old courthouse. We sat in there for a while, then it was finally time to come home.
Well, a very eventful day, I have to say.
Oh, and I finally figured out what to name my puppy. "Scout" from the novel, To Kill A Mockingbird. I know that the puppy is a boy, and the character was a girl, but I figure "Scout" could work both ways.
Anyway, I'm bored, so I'm gonna go. Ttyl!

p.s. My feet are killing me from all of the walking!!!
