I can't lie; I am hoping this album is more like the early stuff as opposed to American Idiot.
American Idiot is good; Dookie, Nimrod, Insomniac, Kerplunk, Warning etc., are AMAZING.

i really like the sound of their old stuff, but then i like American Idiot because it's got so much emotion. i'm hoping they'll somehow fuse the two together and make it really awesome.

yeah, that's true. there were SOME parts on AI that were somewhat reminiscent of their old stuff, like East 12th Street. hopefully they do that more with this longer album.
I'm just so pumped. I pre-ordered the CD in March....maybe it was February ... so I've been W A I T I N G for what feels like 2 years.
i ordered the special edition one, so it's gunna take longer to get the physical cd but i get a digital download when it comes out. it's so exciting!

it was about $100 including shipping, so yeah... expensive. but i really enjoy album artwork and there's 60 pages of it that i'll never get bored of. and some vinyls. if ever i need to sell it all, the value will hopefully go up.
haha, truth. I don't have a way to play the vinyl ones, so mine would just go to waste and that would suck. I heard it was 'limited edition', like, only a few thousand would be made, so I'd much rather someone who was really into vinyl get to enjoy one of the packages, even if I DON'T believe that person is a bigger fan than I am

.yeah, there's only a few thousand. i got an old record player from my grandpa's basement a few years ago so i have something to play it on. vinyl is pretty cool.
my parents have a record player, but it's very temperamental. It will work for a few months fine, and then out of nowhere just kind of eat an album. Not cool.
wow, i'd be so pissed if that happened to any of my records! i might be a little paranoid of my record player now lol...
Well, I'm such a crazy music dork that after I get a CD, I upload it to iTunes (normal) and then burn a copy of it, so I can enjoy the music other places (like the car, at work, loan to a friend), but if it gets scratched, I still have an in-tact copy.
