You do know that whenever you do one of those stupid surveys, or play a game on one of those games that you are giving the developers of said things access, not only to your personal data stored on those sites, but also permission to use it any way they see fit...,
including but not limited to plastering your personal pic on the sides of buses, and on billboards all across the country don't you Boo.
That said, I have to go with the "Yes" thingy cause some married fricking Congressman was damned sure buying happiness when he was paying a hooker 5K an hour with USTPD's.

Anyway, there are a lot of people having their personal info used without their consent, and finding out that there is nothing they can do to stop it, just cause they didn't read all of those EULA's before doing those quiz's and playing games.
What would you do if a friend told you they saw you advertising for a match making or porn site Boo?

as for the atual topic of this blog, its very very true. Money can buy alot of happines. However, some of the best things in life are free (love for example). Sure, eventually lovers will buy things for eachother, but it's not as if someone has to go out to some kind of buildig and pay to have their brain turned on to induce chemicals that make the feeling of love.
so in general, i agree with you cause i love shopping, etc and it makes me happy. However, not all hapiness can be bought directly (or indirectly).
Well unless you get bug bit, have a bad reaction and have to be rushed to the ER or a meteorite hits you.

That's my side of buying things FOR ME. The other part of your argument is absolutely valid, though. I spend TONS of money to get things for other people I think will make them happy, which in turn makes me happy. I love getting people the perfect presents - they're hardly ever typical, or expensive items, but knowing that the thing I just purchased is something they'd love... I love that feeling.
Until one learns to love themselves, they cannot truly love anyone else... and the only people who can't admit that yes, money can buy happiness are people who are either very shallow or people who just don't have enough of it to know what it's like to not need it!
There's a whole other spiritual and philosopical side to this issue that I won't bother to address here...
Money is greed and greed is empty. It leaves you feeling alone and empty. If you have people around you because you have money then you are alone.
