It was. I think the end of the 80s was the beginning of tomboys.
After all the goth chicks got bored with their getups, they just said, "I don't care anymore", it seems, hahah.

And then there was a period where everyone thought it was cool to dress like an athlete.

And then there was a time when people thought it was cool to dress like a redneck.

Oh, man. The 90s were scary.
