Schmear on a little lipstick and mascara and the would will beat a path to your door.
So did you get any other word about what to do after this? Unwrap, clean more, reswab, cream, redress, etc.? And are you going back for another evaluation before returning to work? I would assume so because they'd need to make sure infections were clear and that the sores wouldn't return upon putting shoes back on. The work comp claim needs to be as small as possible, ya know.

it looks like this a a staph infection that set in after I got the initial blisters - I had a SERIOUS staph infection back in 2004 that hospitalized me for 10 days and was told it would be a chronic problem. But that affects my right shin area and when the infection returns (I have had it 3 times since then) it hits like a freight train starting with flu symptoms - this foot problem has not affected me in any way similar to that (though my temp was a little high and my BP was too) and has not affected the right lower leg, just the toe area.
Yeah, cleaning/redressing twice a day, antibiotics twice a day, an anti-fungal (I have had bad nails for years - part of the heat of driving I think) twice a day, and a follow-up visit in 8 days.
My timing is either bad or good, I can't figure it out - I have this other job offer on the table - do I get well, return to work, take my paid vacation, and THEN quit? Just return to work and not take the other job until this comp claim is well behind me? Or jump ship right now? I'll probably stay on here at Schneider unless K&B is really aggressive about getting me to come over (some companies offer a sign-on bonus of a $1000 or so to help a driver financially as they transition between paycheck).
Maybe I'll stick it out til my March trip to Ireland, take it, and then try to have something lined up after that. I roll with the punches and often will wait thinking that if something is meant for me, it will still be there when I really want it or can finally afford.

OUCH!! Staph infections are awful!! I remember the last one I had, but that's beside the point. To have chronic ones must be terrible.....you better take good care of your tootsies, young man! I guess, on the bright side (?), you didn't get it like the other ones, so it could have been worse?
You could always tell Schneider that you've got an offer from K&B and see if you can get a bidding war started?
I think the priority right now has to be getting your feet healed (no pun intended, lol) because you can't really do either job laid up. You can use these 10 days to think a little, see what transpires and go from there. Will there be a job at K&B there for you in March? I tend to agree with your line of thinking, that if something is meant to be, it will still be there when the time is right. But I also tend to second-guess myself and weigh every single option and possibility too, lol. You have to follow your gut - you have a level head and have made good decisions up until now, so I know you'll make the right one again. Btw, I suggest red nail polish for the toes. But, it's your call.

no bidding war in this economy I'm afraid, even truck drivers who have been told they are gold for the past 3 decades, are disposable at this point.
Each time I get the staph recurrance from the original (in the lower leg, not foot) it is as I mentioned, immediate, strong, and disabling - 2 of the 3 times I had to go straight to the ER for treatment (see my post http://bbmyls2go.mindsay.com/the_er_is_a_lonely_place_to_die.mws )
RED nail polish, hmmm, IF I were to go that route, I'd HAVE to keep a little bit of masculinity and keep my garnet and gold for my Florida State Seminoles!

I think I could go with garnet and gold.....the gold would be sparkly of course!
How are your feet feeling now, after some time resting?

I'm not happy - the infection has shown little sign of receding though it could be that the redness I see is simply the wound itself - swelling does seem to have gone down. Also it seems to have simply cycled through the healing process as before, started with raw skin, healed over, scabs peeled, and raw skin is now cracking and splitting again simply from standing and walking. I see the doc tomorrow morning and assume I will have another week at home.
You know how crazy I get when you talk all kinky like that to me...."fish nets"....jeez Bru....way to turn a girl on and then leave her hangin!
ahem. i'm reviewing your cabana boy application, and it indicates that you've had *extensive* fishnet work.....
*snickers*
i'm so glad you're getting the issue treated. if you will excuse my temporary loss of ladyness, "don't fuck with 'em feet!" (loosely translated s.c. geechee)
