....that this year, the Christmas/Holiday Season seems to be welcomed early?  There are several radio stations that are already playing Christmas music, retailers (such as mine) are setting up their holiday aisles (early as usual), but are met with more compliments than, "this is too early" remarks, and, even with this recession in our midst, spirits seem to be uplifted.

Is it that we are in the face of a positive change?  That, in these darker times, people realize there isn't too much we can do, but to focus on positive ideas, thoughts and giving to others in more need than ourselves?  That some songs can't help but uplift our spirits?  That cheery, holiday lights seem to brighten things?

Can we carry this over all year long?

Thursday.....Thanksgiving......our Christmas lights go up.  The turkey cooks all day.  Our Christmas Yule Log DVD will be playing all day (along with Rosie O'Donnell's Christmas CD!), L's 4-tiered trains will be constructed, the house will be warm and tasty odors will be wafting throughout, and the Seahawks will be on National TV against the Cowboys, we get to dress up.....

Only things missing will be when my kids and grandkids don't show up and enter into the festivities to help celebrate.  Calls will be made, though!  But this is where memories will be evoked from past celebrations and love.

ENJOY!!!!!  Especially this year.

Re: Does Anyone Else Notice...
That is why you both need to move back to Washington!  So that we can all celebrate together  I actually considered sending you guys a basket of all of the great things that Washington has to offer like Coffee, chocolate, clam chowder, etc. etc. etc.!!! But I held back.  But enough of my nagging  so that I can agree with you!  I think big changes are on the horizon and I think people are feeling that.  I also think that people realize that instead of complaining about the holidays it is time to embrace them and be Thankful for what we do have, friends, family, a warm place to stay.  I will be digging out all of our Christmas decorations and getting them set up before Thanksgiving.  (Slowly of course because Matt and I are both stuck home with colds!)  I have almost all of my shopping done, gifts wrapped and you know what?  I didn't go overboard this year.  Jack and I have been making lots of things and talking about the other traditions of Christmas.   Like cooking meals, ,making cookies, spending time with our friends and family and being Thankful for all that we have.  I think he actually "gets" a lot of it too!  You will be missed on Thanksgiving but we will talk for sure, just like last year!  That was my one big break of the day when I got to sit down and chat with you for a bit so I am looking forward to it!!  Cross your fingers for me, I will be cooking the entire Dinner again this year, complete with a nearly 20 pound bird and a spiral cut ham!    (My Dad will take the bulk of the leftovers to work to share with the guys)  Mom, Dad, Matt, Jack and I will all be thinking of you on Thursday. XOXOXO
