I  know it's been a while since you posted this but I just stumbled across it so I thought I would reply as well.

I was 18, it was last spring.  I had always planned on waiting until I was in love, I fell in love, so I had sex, and actually my first time wasn't very awkward.  It could have been because of how comfortable I am with my boyfriend, but I was so sure it was what I wanted and we just fit together perfectly.

I'm glad you're not a one night stand kind of guy, and I think it will make it more meaningful when you do end up having sex.
