Why I always seek to find

 The higher road that seems untried,

Why I yearn for more,

To learn, to grow, to soar.

Sometimes I wonder what You want from me,

I give You my best,

I struggle, but I rest

In Your amazing love

That I know covers me from above.

I'm at a loss for words,

And I don't know what is next,

Where do I put my foot,

Where do I place my hands.

What I thought was Your way is apparently not.

You are my Father, my Lord, and my Friend,

Did I hear You wrong,

Or just not listen long enough,

I know You are with me and still have a plan,

Please ... tell me what's next.

There is no emptiness in You

No turning away, no failure or loss,

You are the God of all purpose,

You are hope, You are life,

You're the end to my strife.

I will wait for You and try not to panic,

I will trust in Your soverienty,

Please show me what's next on my journey to You;

Do I fight for this place and increase my zeal,

Or is there someplace else You want me?

Sometimes I wonder why I doubt You,

Why I panic and question Your ways.

Then I realize I am only human,

And I want to see Your face,

But until then, I'll trust Your grace.
