I feel like Scotty boy is just stealing my own words and printing them. I suppose I owe some people an arrogant "I told you so" after some of the things he said. McCellan's account of the sprint to war is completely in line with other inside accounts and "leaks". Yes, it is his opinion of what he observed, heard, etc.. but it fits into the overall puzzle of deception surprisingly well.

I can't wait to read the book myself after the interviews on NBC and MSNBC.

Re: Scott McCellan....
That's funny because I pulled this from an interview...

In an interview Tuesday, McClellan said he retains great admiration and respect for Bush.

LOL!  Jesse, have you been vicariously playing for the White House?   Smiley

How could anyone respect and admire Bush after saying such things about him?  That's just bizarre.

Re: Scott McCellan....
Well, just because he helped get us into a never ending war it doesn't mean he isn't a good guy.

Riiiiiiight.

I know.  What's a little mayhem and death between old friends?

Re: Scott McCellan....
And why is that funny? It wasn't what I was talking about, but ok...

Besides, I understand the way that McClellan feels without feeling the same way. He started out with a great deal of respect and admiration for Bush. He doesn't sound like he has the same level of respect and admiration for him that he used to. He quite publically invested, emotionally and ideologically, into the pre-9/11 or even pre-inauguration Bush, and in my opinion what he actually retains is not actual respect or admiration. He is experiencing belief perseverance...

"Once we have decided that we believe something, we will tend to keep on believing it, even in the face of disconfirming evidence.

Particularly if other people know of our belief, it can be embarrassing to climb down from our previous assertions. It is also difficult to remove a belief which has been woven into a wider web of belief, without disturbing those other beliefs."

It is sort of like that.

Re: Scott McCellan....
You didn't think that was funny?

I have a test for you.

What is the difference between a light bulb and a pregnant woman?

Re: Scott McCellan....
... A pregnant woman can't be unscrewed? haha. I don't know.

But no... I mean, it isn't actually funny in the Ha Ha sense. More odd than anything else that be can still respect and admire the president when all signs point to him being undeserving of either.
