Hands joined together, a circle forms
Blue swims with yellow, green is born
Peace prayers worldwide, arms put aside
All aboard the unity ride!

Coming together, one and all
For the benefit of the whole
Red or yellow, black or white
Joining forces for the goal.

Bakers and lawyers, the boys in the band
Building bridges and fighting fires
Each one embracing each new helping hand
Creating a network of choirs.

Catholics and Hindus, Muslims and Jews
Putting aside their beliefs
Cleaning and painting, waiting in queues
For a chance to provide some relief.

Re: Poetry Challenge #7 - Unity
That is very good, it flows quite nicely and has a good message.

Do we always wait until the last day to post? Or do we post the entries when we have them 'complete'?

We post them as soon as we choose.  I've been first and I've been last, and I even missed a post once.  Thanks for your comments.

Re: Poetry Challenge #7 - Unity
I think there is a blog entry either on this site or over at PoetryChallenge that lists all of us and our numbers.  I should do an updated version, though, since there have been changes.  It would be #6, whoever that is, if we even still have 6.  I'll check it out and post it at PC.

And thanks for your remarks.  Since we're trying to be more critical, I thought someone might question me on the word "choir".  What I meant to convey there was the idea of voices combining, not a choir as in a singing group, per se.  I really hope we do get a little more critical, make one another think more, so we can each improve our writing.

Actually, I liked the use of your word choir, I totally understood where you were going w/it.  I was number 6... and I did it this past week.

Maybe if we give outlines of what to critique.. I will look up the guidelines and suggestions on this other site I belong to....and run them by you.. but AFTER I finish my taxes..

SEEING the light finally..LOL

Yes, I noticed you were number 6, when I went back to the list.  Glad you understood my intentions on "choir."

Sure wish I could see the light at the end of that tax tunnel.  Good for you!
