Like his passing and the passing of others his age and younger, at times I become a little uneasy because I realize at one instant, I too could be gone, many might say "before his time".
Tim Russert was only 58 and though the plethora of 20 and 30 somethings may look at that age as somewhat elderly, to me, he was a middle aged person, not too far ahead of me.
I for one am glad that we humans seem to have the capacity to hear about death and then not dwell on it. IF we did, the psychiatric wards would be full of us.
I hope Tim Russert was loved and cherished by his family, his wife and kids especially, whm most men I know live for. I also hope his wife did not go to bed angry with him or have an argument with him before he died without closure or restitution. My wish is that he instead, was cherished and loved and kissed and wispered to before he passed "Tim, I love you." That is my hope. That's what we live for.
I too, thought Tim was a respectable journalist in that he seemed quite respectful of the people he interviewed.
BTW, before I forget, here's a link to the SF Chronicle, and you can get all their daily news, plus things like All Over Coffee and The Bad Reporter (and of course Mark Morford) anytime you want ;~)

Also, earlier in this discussion, I had thought Tim Russert's son was younger. I guess he just graduated from college, which is still pretty young. I'm not sure if he was actually married - that is what I had heard from a friend, not in a paper or on TV. And the book is already out - written for his father.
I broadcast on www.nowlive.com
They offer web cam and chat room.
