I went to mass because it is the Feast Day of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and that's the name of my parish. A composer had written a special hymn in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary which was sung by everyone at the end of mass. After mass everyone was invited to the Rectory for cookies and tea/coffee. I got to visit with a few friends I haven't seen in a long while. I rarely see anyone I know if I don't go to a church function.
This afternoon my hubby, Tim, and I are going to walk through Prospect Park to the Farmer's Market at Grand Army Plaza. People sell delicious fresh produce and some baked goods from Upstate New York there. I want to get some eggplants and maybe a fresh baked cider muffin or even some fresh made cider. They also sell quiches and loaves of different kinds of bread including whole wheat which you don't see in the supermarkets around here. I want to make eggplant parmagiana.
