The ship in the picture above is the "Legacy", a clipper of the Windjammer fleet, on which my mom and I sailed through the Virgin Islands a few weeks ago. I loved being on that ship. I woke up early each morning and loved to go up and sit on deck with a cup of tea. I spent a lot of time just leaning on the rail, looking out over the water and thinking "I get to be alive and to see such things." There was such beauty down there. I've never seen so many shades of blue. I had such a good time, being out in the air, running around barefoot, being windswept and makeup free. I would do such a vacation again in a heartbeat except one week was too short. And coming back to Canadian weather was depressing. I'm disinclined to do a regular "carnival" type cruise now. Not after wooden decks and sails and no shoes. A clipper is definately the way to go.
