how to make the perfect burger for four:

 

take two pounds of extra lean ground beef. add a generous handful of cajun blacking rub and two tabs of jack daniels barbecue sauce. form into large patties with a drepression  in the middle. grill depression side down for 8 minutes, flip, put blue cheese in the depression. let grill for about 3 more minutes. toast buns.

 

add fresh spinach and a slice of beefsteak tomatoe. I served with wedges of potaties tossed in olive oil and rosemary , also grilled.

 

add a widmer hefenweizen in a frosted mug. OMG, foodie heaven.

Extra lean shrinks the least, and tastes the best!  I wasn't making judgments...just making sure I read the ingredients correctly.  I rarely eat burgers (perhaps once a year at best), but I know I couldn't eat 8 oz of beef in one sitting.
