Yeah, as a Californian (as you know) I love it that Schwarzengrupper is going up against Bushie again. I think we'll win out, in the end. Unless the friggin supremes get into it and side with Bushie. And Bushie has only avoided impeachment because no one wanted Cheney, the Evil One, as prez. Here in my area, not only has my town of Sebastopol, but also Santa Rosa and other cities' city councils voted to impeach the BOTH OF THEM! Not that anything is going to come of it, but at least we are on record as having done it. I think 88 cities have now voted for this. Evil evil
It's not just California. There are 17 states that cannot set their own emissions standards now. This is blatantly unconstitutional, that the federal government would interfere with legislation of state governments.
emission standards effect the entire country. one state's air doesn't stay in that state nor do the cars approved. So if many states could regulate there were LESS oversight. SOme issues are national and require federal intervention. But the fed should state at least the minimum standard and let state be more diligent- not less.
