Thats what my son Steve came in and said to me this morning. This was after he went with dad to pick up a couch from the ladies house who owns the beach house, and Jeff and I have done work over there, with cleaning and all. You may remember I described it as being the most dirty house I have ever been in. The lady has two teen boys, one is 18 the other 14, and noone there cleans up behind themselves. It's nasty, and it would get nasty as quck as I could clean it.
I needed to hear this from my son, I told him just last night I was feeling like I should be the one doing the dishes. (the kids take turns doing them mostly)Sometimes I feel bad about them and their chores, but I believe it's the right thing to do. They do their own laundry, they scrub toilets, the mop floors. People have asked how we keep our house clean, and the thing is is that, it's nothing special, it's just not cluttered, and things are put away. So basically it comes down to teaching our kids to clean up behind themselves and us doing it as well. Steve confirmed for me, that this is exactly what we have done, and that it's been the right thing.
