I think The Moment Of Truth would be an easy game show to win. I mean, look at it this way: you go on, they ask you questions. No matter what answer you give the detector will say whether or not you're telling the truth. But if you lie you lose the money and go home. So either way people are going to know the truth. So why not just be completey truthful? I mean, duh!

Re: The Moment Of Truth
They only know the truth as far as that question tho..so if you told a lie at the first question, they would only know one tidbit of truth.  The more one has to hide, the more difficult it is to tell the truth, unless you are truly brazen and don't care what people know.  But a lot of people have things in their past that they are not proud of and that they would not wish everyone else to know.

But yes: I agree with you on one score; don't play the game unless you want to tell the whole truth, since it would be damning to you, to have told and still go home with no money.  I love it, but my hubby hates it, so have not watched yet this season.

Re: The Moment Of Truth
See that's what I mean, if I was going on there, I'm not gonna care what they ask me, especially if it means big money.

Just as long as you go on and tell nothing but the truth then you shouldn't have a problem.

I thought I was gonna watch them all as they came out, but I haven't even seen a full episode, I just don't watch too much TV.

Re: The Moment Of Truth
Yeah; neither do I.  My husband is a Pentecostal preacher and they discourage their preachers not to have tv's.  He condescended to get some rabbit ears so I could watch American Idol, so the Fox programs are basically all I can see, and there is not much on there worth seeing.

Ew that really sounds like it sucks. Gah.

Re: The Moment Of Truth
Yeah, to some degree. But we watch ( decent) dvds, unless I sneak one in he doesn't know about...lol.  And that is the reason I spend so much time online at night...my lifeline.

And that is a pretty new user pic, dear Shotzie!

Re: The Moment Of Truth
ditto..

Re: The Moment Of Truth
It's not quite that simple, though, because a polygraph doesn't really measure truth or lies--it measures indications of stress.  This often corresponds to answering a question falsely, but not always--it is possible that a question, even if answered truthfully, will cause enough stress that the answer will be interpreted as a lie.  And the whole premise of that show is designed around stressful questions.

I find that program right on the verge of completely disgusting, actually--they should call it Shit All Over Your Loved Ones For Dollars.  I'd rather go mug strangers and beat them up for their wallets--it's more honorable.

Re: The Moment Of Truth
Yeah I know it does.

I know the show is.

But you can still get past it.

That's a great name for the show!! =D

I do suppose that would be more honourable... 0_o
