The first bunch was from Sears (one of my fave stores). I was really bored so I was just wasting time there. First I went drooling over the power tools. I want them all, it makes me sad that I cant afford them. I then went to the men department. Sears was haveing a bunch of clearances. I found an entire outfit for thirteen bucks. I found a Dockers tie for 3 bucks, a nice dress shirt for five, and a nice pair of pleated dress pants for another five. What a deal. I am going to be looking smoking hot this Christmas.
The second deal I found at a thrift store. I love thrift store. I found this really cool ironing board that folds up and hangs from a closet door. This will help save what very little space I have. It was $2.50.
I love it when I save money.
ok I just have to point out something.
The Religious Right seems to be getting more ignorant and more annoying. I saw a rediculous bumper sticker on a car today. The car had four bumper sticker, three of them offended me. One in particular made do double take and want to throw something at the car.
The bumper sticker read as follows:
Blacks Didn't Choose Slavery/ The Jews Didn't Choose Genocide/ Babies Didn't Choose Abortion
Ok, first of all, I am not pro-abortion. I don't think women should have abortion, but I don't think they should have boob jobs either. I do, however, understand that it is the womens decision to make and no one should be allowed to stop her if that is her decision.
Now on to why I found the bumper sticker so offencive. All though the statements it makes are not entirely untrue it is a very misleading and unfair comparison. Next, I find it is very racist Slavery and Genocide are not the same as abortion. Slavery and Genocide are rooted in ricisn and people lacing themselve's above others, none of which is reason why a women would have a abortion. To campare what happened to the African-Americans and Jewish peoples to abortion lessen the significance of both horrificic events in world history. Slavery and the Holocaust are in no way connected to abortion.
If the Religous Right wants to put an end to abortion, so be it. But how dare they put a guilt trip on the rest of the people who disagree with them.
By the way, the other two bumper stickers that I found offencive and ignorant where as follows:
1. God is Pro-Life (my thoughts: who the hell are you to speak for god!)
2. God will bless America when America returns to God (my thoughts: I love this country. I love the fact that we have the right to pretty much live our lives the way we want. I am very proud to be an American. I don't even like the saying "god bless America" because I we have seperation of church and state and second, because I don't think that god would favor one country over another. To say that god would turn his back on America because we are not living the way the Religous Right sees fit is very ignorant. After all didn't Jesus himself go out of his way to be kind to leppers and risk his followers by dining with prostitutes and tax-collectors? I think that god doesn't want his people to judge and condem others.)
I have no problem with religion. I am a Cathollic, not a very devout one. I go to mass every now and then I pray. I can't say I believe all Church teaching but I believe in God and Jesus and the Saints so that's good enough for me. I can't stand it when religion (and more specifically it's misguided followers) try to push their views on the rest of the world with guilt trips and arrogance. Please just let people live their live they way they want. Does it really matter if you don't like the way they live? Will it keep you from living your's? I say no.
