I was visiting with krommos and his family this past weekend.  His back yard was full of these little birds.

Re: Little Birds
They're cedar waxwings. They symbolize transformation; their diet depends upon berrries and from these they take their feather color. Pretty neat when you think about it, I'd like my eyes to be brown sometimes but eating chocolate donuts doesn't help, Smiley. Related to cardinals, their masks and crest can parallel certain Indian traditions. They also can lice on berries unlike other birds. Not a usual totem.

He's doing well.  Another baby on the way, so he is pretty busy.  I'll pass it along to him, that you miss him.

Well jeez, his "love pad" as he liked to call it is just getting busier and busier. And thanks for letting him know.

Re: Little Birds
I was hoping that the pictures that I took would have turned out better, but that wasn't the case.  there were too many branched in the way.  I figured that I still needed to post at least one of the pictures for you even if it didn;t turn out so great.  Maybe by next time, I'll have a telephoto lens so I can get a nice close up.  Smiley

Re: Little Birds
You'll never believe what I saw today on my way to VA- cedar waxwings! A small flock of them in a tree. It's funny how you post a pic and then I see the exact same bird. Maybe I'll see a yellow flower this week....

Re: Little Birds
That's a cedar waxwing.  We have a lot of them in northern Michigan.  I think they prefer a boreal/ taiga habitat, as they're not in southern MI.  The only time I've seen them myself is when they've migrated through, or up north when my big bro was trapping cowbirds for the DNR.

They're way cool!  The first time I saw one, the silhouette told me cardinal; then I was...Wait-a-minute!

They are neat little birds.  We actually have quite a few around here, hanging out in the cedar breaks.

Keep up the awesome pix; they make my mindsay!

I know I asked you before, but can you reiterate what kind of camera you have, and whether it has a zoom..?
