I'm disgusted

I said I'd never be one of them

I try to be healthy

the enouragement's just not there

mom was never there

she doesn't understand these things

I look down and see myself

concern of gain

no more!

make the pain go away

come back to me

motivation lost

Though still I try

I just want to melt

the candles 'til there's

nothing left but darkness

so I'm left

to drown in self

doubt. Wither into something

no one wants and be lost

forever in an eternity

where you don't exist.

I don't quite understand this poem, as I think I'm partly talking to myself, and someone I love and someone I hate. I guess you could interpret it in differnt ways. Opinions welcome as always.

I sense some insecurity in yourself as a female...You feel as if you need someone to, not watch your steps, but try and influence them as you go along a rough path. It will smooth out. Blessed Be.

I'm not going to lie, I don't quite understand it either, but that's part of what makes poetry so ... versatile.  You can say almost anything and have it mean something to someone.  You may not even know yourself what it means until you think about it afterward.

It's very good, though I'm no expert on poetry.  I liked it.  It's one you have to read through twice at least to get ideas about.  Very good.  (encourages!)

True, some of the nicest poems are not quite understandable. Thanks for the truth I'd rather hear that someone truthfully didnt like my poem, then hear that they lied to me when they said they did. Glad you liked it.

I like the "candles" part.  very much.

I think you should think about what candles mean to you (poetically) and write about that.   There is a lot to play with there.

I htink this poem has a lot of feeling, but it seems a little 'scattered'. What do you mean 'I try to be healthy? is it something like; you eat right and someone doesn't or emotionally healthy?

Re: Poem #2 of 8- My writing frenzy
Hmm...all of them, I think. I was looking down at myself and I was looking at my scars, and my stomach, and feeling sad, I try so hard to get better. I know eating healthy and excersicing makes me happier, but I often give in the the unhealthy food that my mom buys and that I'm not allowed outside to excercise, and often forget... I just feel unhealthy...and it's my own fault. It seems smtg like that, s I said I havnt been able to understand my poetry lately...

Re: Poem #2 of 8- My writing frenzy
as i read it again.. when i say" I said I'd never be one of them" I guess it could mean addiction, stupid, and then about the encouragement, mom nore anyone really encourages me to eat healthy, or cares. If I didn't ask my mom to buy healthy food, she wouldn't and I'd be overweight. I think it's mixed...
