First! Haha, that's right suckas!
We are going to face this big bastard head on. Do you think we are gonna run? No way! Our dog is already foaming at the mouth. He's ready to bite that thing.
Seriously, we went out and bought a few supplies that we needed and we made plans to protect our car. Other than that, we're just playing the waiting game.

Yes, but it was like it was getting stuck in gear (even though I have an automatic) It didn't do that when I turned the air conditioner off.
Ahhh!! I would be so pisssed. Sometimes all hell breaks loose and you just have to just watch it happen.
That's good. The projections of the storm have changed a little which would be good news for Victorians. The projections for last day had it hitting just south of us which would be a disaster. The latest projection has it hitting around Edna. It would still affect us but it wouldn't be nearly as bad.
That took like, an hour! lol
I don't think I'm going to leave either... But man, if you and Jayme decide to evacuate, get a motel room here, and I'll bring the guitar and the beer! (this is if Ike doesn't affect us).
Ok, that reminds me, car protection... If I'm not working that day, I need something to protect the g-ride. Thanks for that reminder!
Here, we're playing the "who's evacuating next?" game. heh

That would be fun! One of the reasons we decided to stick it out is that we are a little low on funds right now.
Hell... who can afford to evacuate if it's not mandatory? Not me... and after Rita I would have to be forcibly carried off. So... no plans to leave Harris Co at this point. If you don't hear from us, look in the closet under the stairs! LOL. It's the most protected place in the apt.
True. I might be able to afford it, but I think I'd rather make money out of the storm. The hospitals (I dunno if I already posted about this) but they are willing to pay us $15 to go on stand-by in a Memorial Hermann hospital. The danger in that is... if we have to be sent out for a delivery to another Memorial Hermann while the storm is here. I'll ask for hazard pay.
To come to think of it, are independent contractors "mercenaries"?
We get jobs from our dispatch, and instead of saying "I'll take the job", I say "I'll take the case."

Mercenaries focus on the goal, and disregards every obstacle on the way. We go after the money, and we're inconsiderate about everything else that has nothing to do with the job.
Hey! From what I heard, it is now mandatory for you guys as well. My eyes are glued to the news.
I saw your name in the MindSay map and noticed you are the closest one to the gulf.
I'll be keeping up with you, to be sure that you are safe from this storm as well.

That is good! It felt like forever trying to recover from the hurricane... I wish you and everyone else in Galveston the best!
I added you, btw.
I added you, btw.

thanks. hell, when I was down there, they were having a 'hurricane clean up party' on my block. that's why I love it and how I know things will be just fine!
That's what I expected out of us Texans, we weren't gonna throw the pity party like others did, who still do it til this day.
That's a meanie frownie face! It looks like it could be the face of Ike.
Travel Safely. I don't care what people say about projections and about "maybe or maybe not", if there is a chance that Ike is headed at you, you gotta scram while you can!
I'm in Fort Bend Country as well and I'm not going anywhere. I plan on waiting it out at home. We knew it would be impossible to get out and we'd have to take two cats and two dogs. Not many places are too likely to want us there.

We're actually told by the officials at Fort Bend "not to even think about evacuating". I'm probably going to be in the Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital on standby.
