i remember when the first movie was out, does that count? lol (i'm old)
lol... you are not old. I remember it being out, too. My dad used to watch it. Granted, I was too young to have any clue as to what was going on, but I do remember it.
Oh, Ms. Wendy. Now you are putting words in my mouth. That's not what I was saying at all. Not one bit. Although, a different choice of words on my part might have been better when I consider what I was trying to say.
Okay- speculation... it would awesome if Adama is the final cylon. It would also be the most predictable and sorry thing to happen. You'll feel jipped. Though, the ripples of that possibility leave me wondering for a long while.
I would like the final one to be such a miniscule character that's been present from the beginning. But I can't think of anyone that fits the bill.
Another possibility is that its Baltar. They've been playing with him being one of the five for awhile that he could be the one left after the four are named.
Yes, Adama being a Cylon would be, for the lack of a better term, jumping the shark. Either Adama being the final Cylon would be a jump of the shark. As much conflict as they may have with each other or with other crew members, the Adamas have to remain "good". They can't be Cylons.
Balter is the gimme. It's too out there. From day one they were showing him interacting with Cylons in his head. That one is too easy, as well. And that whole point mid-season where he point-black asked Six, "Am I a Cylon?" leads me to believe he isn't. It's just too easy.
I was thinking about it being President Roslyn, but that doesn't quite work, either. The prophecy of the 13 original colonies is that "a dying leader will bring them to earth". That doesn't work so much if she's a Cylon, unless the humans misinterpreted things and all these prophecies are about the Cylons being lead to earth by a dying leader. Then, that would likely make us (you and me) Cylons and that plays into people's theories of reincarnation. Interesting thoughts, but I don't think so. Laura needs to remain human and bring the humans to earth... unless Starbuck is the dying leader and they mistranslated 'dying' when it should have been 'dead'. Then Roslyn is free to be Cylon. A lot of other folks online are thinking she is Cylon because she is in those dreams with Six and Sharon, however, she was injected with Cylon blood to treat her cancer the first time so that might be why she is able to dream with them. Plus, having her as a Cylon negates the need to have her assistant, Tory, be a Cylon. You don't need a Cylon in place at Tory's position if you already have a Cylon as the President.
So that really leaves me with nobody. RDM (the show-runner) has said that they have already dropped clues to who the final one is. Viewers could figure it out. It shouldn't be nearly as surprising as the other 4, where the clues only came in the final episode. I'm trying to think of who else is on the show but wasn't on the ship at the time that this all happened - people we wouldn't have seen reacting to the music. I can only really think of Tom Zarek. That doesn't feel right, either.
Also, and I don't have proof, but supposedly Billy, the President's old assistant, was in this last episode of BSG. That's according to IMDB. They've been wrong before and I certainly don't remember him, but it could have been in a flashback for the Baltar trial. Even if he was in the background, he needs to get credited.

I like the whole switcheroo of "dying leader" idea. Roslyn would be a good choice in that case. I want to respond more, so, I'll be back.
I really want to engage in this conversation, but am afraid that I'm woefully behind in the series. Definately not Adama or the President...I believe that Zarek is just an egotisitical human with his own agenda. Can't remember if XO's floozy wife was cylon tested and/or passed. Maybe it's the kid Boxy, but we haven't seen much of him since the beginning.
Heh... you made some statements in there that prove that you are woefully behind in the series. I'm not going to tell you which statements were the red flags so that I don't spoil anything for you when you catch up.
But please catch up at some point. If not to chat with me about it, but just to enjoy this amazing series.
